Urban Waste to Textile
Workshop by Jasmin Sermonet & Maxie Schneider, as part of KNOT – Intertwining of Neighborhood, Textiles and Plants by Ort-Schafft-Material | 19.11.2022
In the workshop “From leaves to street furniture” we give fallen autumn leaves and other plant remains a new context and see them as a valuable material. Using textile techniques and recycled textiles, we will use fallen leaves and plant remains from neighborhood streets as building material for a collaboratively constructed piece of street furniture. With the influence of time and weather, the natural materials will change and dye the textiles – which we can observe over a longer period of time.
In this workshop, Maxie Schneider and Jasmin Sermonet from the Berlin Weißensee School of Art explain how to use simple textile techniques to create surfaces and structures.
